Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the Modi government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism, declaring that the fight will continue until every Naxalite has either surrendered, been captured, or eliminated.
Shah made the remarks while felicitating personnel of the CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police, District Reserve Guard (DRG), and Cobra forces in New Delhi for the successful ‘Operation Black Forest’ on Karreguttalu hill in Chhattisgarh—touted as the biggest anti-Naxal operation in the region.
Praising the security forces’ courage in overcoming heat, altitude, and IED threats, Shah said their actions destroyed a major Naxal base camp, material dump, and supply chain. “The bravery shown by our jawans will be remembered as a golden chapter in anti-Naxal operations,” he added.
He stressed that Naxalism has severely harmed underdeveloped regions by obstructing schools, hospitals, and welfare schemes, but ongoing operations have brought “a new sunrise” to the lives of nearly 6.5 crore people across affected areas.
Joined by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, Shah assured that the Centre is working to support security personnel injured in operations and reiterated the government’s target of making India Naxal-free by March 31, 2026.
